DRILLING BELLING BUCKET (PILE FOUNDATION EXPANDER)
The pile foundation expander (belling bucket) is a driiling tool increasing the well diameter in the foundation due to expanding spades (plates) with reinforces flat teeth. This expansion enables to increase bearing capacity of the pile considerably not increasing the diameter of the pile itself.

The pile foundation expander (belling bucket) is a popular measure to reinfirce the bearing capacity of foundations due to more economy of the concrete mix. The expanders are used during construction of high-rise buildings and compact heavily loaded bases. TRIS company expanders (belling bucket) are sucessfully tested drilling tool which have been operated at the largest construction sites of Russia and the CIS.

Distinctive features of the TRIS company expanders (belling bucket):
- The tool body is made of high strength steel reinforced by the thickness. It enables to keep geopmetry and to operate the expander upon maximum rotation loads during expension of the pile foot.
- Application of the own developed mechanism for opening/closing of blades for expansion. As distinguished from analogues it enables the operator to be capable of smooth blade opening for operation under complex conditions. It reduces the risk of toll wedging up / breakage considerably and increases of the service live of the drilling tool.
- The highly-precise blades with flat teeth with reinforced hard-alloy inserts. It enables to operate efficiently for the whole spade equally cutting off the soil along the whole length and to supply the developed rock in a receiver tank without losses. These features ensure cleanliness and geometry accuracy of the expanded section of the well foundation which improve quality of the conducted drilling works considerably.
- The expander bottom by the design is similar to the drill bucket bottom for cleaning of well foundations and equipped with two cutting blades. It enables to ensure accurate aligning of the well bottom and to refuse from application of the additional drill bucket for foundation formation. The work speed is increased and costs for purchase of an additional drilling tool are reduced.
- The expander is equipped with the increased capacity receiver tank for developed soil. It enables to perform expansion of the well foundation at one pass. Earth excavation depending on the design can be performed both manually and automatically. These features enable to reduce operating time of the machine repeatedly which is required to expand the pile foundation.
- Application of high strength steels, HARDOX steel for cutting and power units of the drilling tool. As an example the expande bottm is made of HARDOX and it increases the operating base durability repeatedly and enables the tool to operate under maximum squeezing loads (upon rod squeezing for opening the cutting blades).
- The high-accuracy cast-solid socket for the kelly bar. High casting quality enables the tool to operate with any turning torque. High accuracy of installation enables to exclude excessive beats and vibration of the tool and the kelly bar which cosiderable extend service life of the drillig rig and other operating elements of the drilling rig.
